About Us - Life at Struan Lodge
Struan Lodge has been carefully designed to provide all the features required in a modern nursing home whilst maintaining a relaxed, home-from-home ambiance.
Our residents enjoy the benefits of group living with like-minded individuals free from the daily stresses of managing a home. As well as their own spacious en-suite bedroom, residents are invited to relax in any of the beautiful day rooms and lounges or take part in the variety of activities on offer.
Making choices and having an input into daily life at Struan Lodge is very important which is why residents are given personal preference of daily activities depending on mood and wellness that day.
Activities are wide ranging and include chilled out movie days, playing games such as cards as well as enoying delicious afternoon teas complete with lots of homebaking and plenty of cups of tea. Our new activities lounge (which allows for a maximum of 2 to 3 residents) means during social distancing restrictions owing to COVID-19, residents still have plenty of things they can get involved with.
Residents can also enjoy a regular trip to our Hairdressing Salon or a leisurely stroll in the pleasant open gardens to the front of the home. Getting out and enjoying the fresh air is a very popular way to while away a few hours. Particulalry as the garden has lots of raised planters and flowerbeds to tend to and enjoy on sunny days.
Catering for all special diets and any intolerances, fresh, seasonal dishes are created by our on-site chef to promote healthy eating and balanced nutrition. Residents look forward to the tea trolley which comes around twice daily.

Visiting during COVID-19 Lockdown Restrictions
At present, we are on visitation lockdown which means there are no visits within the home, however you can still visit your loved one outdoors via window visits. We have a robust booking system in place to facilitate this.
We are providing residents with a tannoy and giving family and friends a speaker, which helps with communication for residents who may have hearing difficulties or quiet voices.
We understand that this is a difficult and frustrating time for those visiting residents but we want to ensure you that these measures are put in place to ensure maximum safety.
We thank you for your understanding and co-operation during these challenging times.
