Triumph at CCG’s First Ever Highland Games

On May 30th, Struan Lodge Care Home proudly participated in the CCG's inaugural Highland Games, held at the beautiful Manor Grange. The event, which brought together care homes from across the region, celebrated Scotland's rich culture and heritage, featuring a variety of traditional games, activities, and friendly competition.
Our team of six enthusiastic residents, accompanied by our Home Manager dressed in a traditional Scottish kilt, along with a dedicated group of staff, made their way to the event with excitement and determination. The Highland Games provide a unique opportunity for our residents to engage in a fun and lively day, fostering camaraderie and a sense of community.
Struan Lodge's team stood out not only for their energetic participation but also for their creative flair. After hours of dedication and teamwork, we are proud to be awarded the prize for the Best-Designed Home Flag at the games. The vibrant flag, designed by residents and staff alike, showcased the true spirit of Struan Lodge Care Home. The beautiful design was a symbol of our commitment to making every resident feel valued and part of something special.
The event was a wonderful showcase of community spirit, where both residents and staff could bond over shared experiences, while enjoying the warm Scottish sunshine and the thrill of the games. Struan Lodge Care Home continues to encourage such activities, believing in the importance of person-centred care and supporting residents to engage in enjoyable, meaningful experiences.
The success of the day goes beyond the prize - it has helped build even stronger connections among our residents and staff and served as a reminder of the joy that comes from participation and teamwork. We look forward to taking part in future events and continuing to create memorable experiences for our residents.
