Daily Life at Struan Lodge Care Home

Providing high-quality personal and health care is at the core of everything we do at Struan Lodge Care Home.

Our residential care home in Edinburgh boasts a number of on-site facilities such as en-suite bedrooms, gardens, hairdressers, and more, available to each individual at no extra cost. We take pride in offering private spaces as well as areas where residents can be sociable and enjoy themselves with other residents, friends, or family members.

It is also important to us that we ensure every resident can continue living their lives the way they want to as well as doing the things they love. We are delighted to provide them with opportunities to live a full and varied lifestyle, by hosting coffee mornings and arts and crafts sessions, encouraging trips to the hairdressers, and even getting them involved in gardening; all of which are part of our daily activities programme. We want no two days to be the same for our residents and we go to great lengths to satisfy their needs and interests.

Residential Care

Residential care is most suitable to those who may struggle to maintain their household or who may require additional assistance with day-to-day activities and self-care. It is also ideal for those who may be seeking companionship or would benefit from living with others.

Those at Struan Lodge Care Home can live in a beautiful, furnished home and receive as little or as much support as they need, whilst taking advantage of having homecooked meals, a beautifully furnished bedroom, and all domestic duties taken care of. Our experienced team is on hand to care for our residents at any time, day or night.

Dementia Care

We are proud to be able to offer people living with dementia a safe, caring, and supportive environment, where dementia care is available at all times by a knowledgable and dedicated team of staff.

Our care home staff regularly receive comprehensive training in understanding and managing all aspects of nursing dementia care to ensure they are up to date with the latest methods. As well as around-the-clock care, we like to support our resident’s overall wellbeing and health by offering a variety of dementia-friendly activities and therapies.

Nursing Care

Nursing care is offered to those who require around-the-clock care from a team of qualified Nurses. As well as providing nursing care to those who are elderly, have physical disabilities, and have high dependency needs, we also provide specialist care to people with conditions such as Huntingtons’ Disease, Motor Neurones Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Prior to moving into our home in Edinburgh, we offer all prospective residents and their loved ones the opportunity to come in and see our care home and to talk with our Home Manager and senior care team. This is so that we can offer our expert guidance and assess whether we can meet your health needs and personal requirements and help them make an informed decision as to whether we are the right care home for them. Once a resident at Struan Lodge Care Home, we will create a personalised care plan that is regularly monitored to best reflect your individual needs.

Respite Care

At our care home in Edinburgh, we also offer respite care which is a short-term care solution for those who need a temporary break from caregiving or as a period of rehabilitation for those who have recently suffered from an illness, injury, or an operation in hospital.

We understand that both caregivers and those who require care can sometimes feel burnt out. A period of respite in our care home ensures that care is offered 24/7 and residents can also benefit from the full range of facilities and social opportunities that all our other residents receive. Whether it’s for a couple of weeks or a few months, at Struan Lodge Care Home, we are more than happy to welcome you into our home.
