Struan Lodge Care Home & You

At Struan Lodge Care Home in Edinburgh, giving excellent care and support is at the core of everything we do. As a purpose-built care home, we understand the importance of friendly care delivered by an experienced team of professionals. As an all-inclusive care home, those living with us have access to a variety of on-site amenities, including en-suite bedrooms, gardens, and more. We take pride in giving each of our residents a space that is both private and open for socialising and where they can spend time with family and friends whenever they’d like to.

We place an emphasis on giving our residents the freedom to continue living their lives as they see fit while also giving them access to a full and varied lifestyle, so they’re always given the option to choose. We take great pride in providing daily activities, arts and crafts classes, aromatherapy, and religious services to our residents. We go to great efforts to suit the requirements and interests of each and every resident because we want no two days to be the same for them.

Our Edinburgh care home is proud to be regulated by the Care Inspectorate, an organisation that reviews health and social care services across Scotland to ensure they are operating at a high standard. Our most recent Care Inspectorate report rates our services as a mix of ‘Good’ and ‘Very Good’, and our teams continue to strive to provide care and facilities at a high level.

Nursing Care

Those who require 24-hour care are given nursing care by our very own team of registered nurses. Along with caring for the elderly, physically disabled, and individuals with high dependency health needs, we also offer specialist care to people with illnesses like Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Motor Neurone Disease.

Prospective residents and their relatives are welcome to come in for a chat with our Home Manager so that they can be provided with advice and guidance, and to ensure that Struan Lodge is the right care home for them. As soon as a resident joins us at our nursing home, we develop a personalised care plan for them that best reflects their individual care needs. This is reviewed on a regular basis so that residents can rest assured that they are receiving the right care for them.

Nursing Care at Struan Lodge

Residential Care

Residential care is best suited for people who could be more likely to find it difficult to maintain their home or who might need extra assistance with daily tasks and personal care. It is also the best option for people who might benefit from living among others or are looking for companionship they cannot find with their immediate friends and family members.

Struan Lodge Care Home residents can enjoy home-cooked meals and rest comfortably in the knowledge that all household chores are taken care of while living in a lovely, furnished home with as little or as much support as they require. Our highly skilled care team is available around-the-clock to provide support and care for our residents.

Dementia Care

We take great pride in being able to provide people living with dementia with a secure, loving, and encouraging environment, where dementia care is administered on an around-the-clock basis by our skilled and knowledgeable team of staff.

Our staff routinely receives thorough training to ensure they are knowledgeable about the most recent techniques as well as to understand and manage all elements of nursing dementia care. We like to support the general welfare of our residents by providing a variety of dementia-friendly activities and therapies in addition to around-the-clock care.

Respite Care

At our nursing home we also provide respite care, a short-term care option for individuals who require a break from providing care or who need time to recover after a recent sickness, accident, or hospital procedure.

We recognise that burnout can occasionally affect both caregivers and individuals who need assistance. A period of respite guarantees that care is provided around-the-clock and that residents can take advantage of all the amenities and social opportunities on offer to them. At Struan Lodge Care Home, we are pleased to assist, no matter what.
