We at Struan Lodge are aware of the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on everyone’s lives, but we are looking forward to begin the process of returning to normalcy.

The health of our residents, visitors and employees will remain a key focus at Struan Lodge Care Home. COVID-19 has had a big impact upon care homes, thus we will continue to make every effort to keep everyone in our home healthy and safe at all times.

Prioritising Resident Safety & Wellbeing

COVID-19 prevention actions are carried out to the highest standard by the staff at Struan Lodge Care Home. We are continually working to ensure that these preventative measures are implemented and that they cause minimal inconvenience to our residents’ daily life. We strive to ensure that our residents receive exemplary standards of safety and hygiene, while also ensuring that they are comfortable in their surroundings. Our caring staff is dedicated to assisting both future residents and their loved ones, as well as those who are now residing with us during these trying times.

It is important that meaningful contact is supported and maintained for residents. There are no limits on how often residents can receive visitors but it must remain safe and manageable for the care home staff and residents themselves and we ask that these are pre-booked. Anyone who visits a care home should take an LFD test, you will be asked to show proof of the recent negative LFD test before visiting. This includes family, friends, children over the age of 12, and visiting professionals. You may take the test at home before you visit or the home can help you to carry out the test when you arrive.

A Fluid Resistant Surgical Mask (FRSM) must be worn wherever possible, and Infection Prevention and Control measures should be followed as instructed by care home staff. Residents, family, and friends are able to plan outings or activities from the care home and are able to do by working together with the care home to arrange.

For prospective residents, to have a tour of the home, it is necessary for this to be pre-booked and for evidence of a negative LFT test to be presented prior to entering the home. This applies to all guests within your party. At any time, the COVID-19 regulations and guidance from the Government, National and Local Healthcare Agencies may change. Safety Measures

The health, safety and well-being of our residents and employees will continue to be a priority for us. We’ve taken a variety of safeguards at our residence since the epidemic to ensure that our residents may continue to live their lives as they wish, with minimal inconvenience.

From adhering to regulatory standards to supporting residents and their loved ones during difficult times, our loving team at Struan Lodge will do everything in their power to ensure our residents’ overall well-being is being looked after. Our Activity Coordinators have implemented the highest standard of infection control during home activities to allow residents to continue with their hobbies.

Our Standard Safety Measures:

At Struan Lodge Care Home, our staff continue to work tirelessly to ensure that residents and their visitors are protected from COVID-19 to the highest degree.

Screen Dividers

Rooms are fitted with floor-to-ceiling screens and intercoms for loved ones to visit residents in a safe environment.

Social Distancing

Social distancing is put in place throughout our home to reduce the risk of transmission.

To keep infection rates to a minimum, staff members use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including face masks, aprons and disposable gloves in accordance with government guidelines.

Remote Visits

We have all the necessary facilities to arrange online communication between residents and their family members via online video conferencing apps.

There are many sanitisation stations placed throughout the building, and we encourage residents and visitors to regularly use them.

Secure Premises

Creating a Sense of Normalcy

Our focus will always be to keep the residents of Struan Lodge Care Home safe and healthy. During times when visits outside the home are forbidden, our professional activities coordinators provide a range of activities to keep residents occupied and entertained.

Keeping Loved Ones Connected

It’s never been more crucial to stay in touch with those closest to them. We believe that our residents’ general well-being depends on them feeling loved and supported by their friends and family.
