Valentines Day Celebrations

This month was all about love and our residents celebrated Valentines Day in the best way. All residents were involved in a variety of activities, we also organised a singalong session from entertainer Margaret.

Both our staff members and our residents had a fun filled afternoon, from singing along to dancing to romantic songs. We love and encourage activities like this, singing together encourages social interaction between our residents, bringing a sense of community amongst them all. Music has a powerful effect on everyones emotions, evoking feelings of joy, nostalgia and love, in which we love to see shine through our residents when they're getting involved.

Valentines Day is a celebration of love and affection and a singalong was ideal, due to it being fun and meaningful for our residents; the perfect way to commemorate the occasion. Additionally, this activity provided opportunities for our residents to connect with one another, reminisce about songs, music and old memories. Most of residents at our care home in Edinburgh even recalled lyrics from their favourite songs, therefore fully getting involved and engaged in both singing and dancing. This activity also improved relaxation and reduced any stress levels with our residents.

If you'd like to know more about our home, we offer a variety of high quality amenities as well as a dynamic activities programme that our residents are invited to participate in created by our activities and lifestyle team, which also includes regular events and outings to the Scottish capital city, Edinburgh.  Here at Struan Lodge Care Home, we go above and beyond to strike the perfect balance between exemplary care, facilities and lifestyle.
