Residential Care

Residential Care allows individuals to be able to enjoy living in a community while receiving respectful and expert care that is entirely tailored to their needs. Our approach to Residential Care places emphasis on entire health, wellbeing and interests in addition to their care needs, ensuring that they have everything they need to live a happy and fulfilling life. We’re driven to support our people in living their lives their way, with as much or as little aid as they require. Our residents benefit from the advantages of shared living with like-minded people, free from the hassles of running a household.

Nursing Care

Nursing Care is available to residents at Struan Lodge 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Our caring staff has undergone rigorous training in providing the best level of care to those with physical disabilities, high dependency needs, and end-of-life care. All of our residents will be allocated a nurse who will become a friendly, familiar face to them, answering any questions or concerns they or their family members may have. We want to give each person who lives with us a comprehensive care plan that allows them to reach their full potential and live a satisfying and comfortable life every day here in our nursing home in Edinburgh.

Dementia Care

We work hard to ensure that each resident enjoys the little things in life, helping them to get the most out of their stay, and we take pride in providing the highest level of care and respect to every resident. Our staff has received comprehensive dementia training, and we take pride in providing each resident with the highest level of care and respect possible. We make every effort to provide treatment that helps each person to attain their greatest potential and live a happy and comfortable life. Regularly planned activities improve social and mental stimulation and interaction, as well as address any frustrations and tensions associated with dementia.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh Zoo is home to over 1,000 rare and beautiful animals from around the world and home to the UK’s only giant pandas and koalas and is accessible by foot in just under 10 minutes. We are lucky to also have Saughton Park & Gardens on their doorstep. Also known as one of Edinburgh’s hidden jewels, this beautiful space spans 34 acres, it offers delightful formal gardens in classic style and features the largest herbaceous border in Edinburgh. Residents of Struan Lodge Care Home are familiar with their local community, with day trips to restaurants, the theatre, and local shops planned regularly. Edinburgh offers some of the most breathtaking and natural beauty in Scotland. Edinburgh Castle, for example, is a must-visit for residents and their friends and family. The most famous of Scottish castles is home to the Honours (Crown Jewels) of Scotland, the Stone of Destiny, the famous 15th-century gun Mons Meg, the One o’Clock Gun, and the National War Museum of Scotland. This fantastic attraction is in an entirely accessible location and is available to everyone, no matter age, physical ability or interests. The castle arranges for a courtesy vehicle that is able to take visitors to the top of the castle. Ramps and a lift give access to the Crown Jewels, Stone of Destiny, and associated exhibition, and ramps provide access to the war memorial. For those with impaired vision, there is a free Braille guide and hands-on models of the Crown Jewels with Braille texts.

Explore our 22 galleries and discover everything from art to animals, Ancient Egypt to Charles Rennie Mackintosh and so much more. Kelvingrove Museum opened in 1901 and is a firm favourite with local people and visitors. Rated 5-stars by VisitScotland, Glasgow Science Centre is another must-visit when in Glasgow. Providing programs of entertaining Science theatre, Planetarium, and around 300 hands-on interactive science exhibit over three floors, this science centre introduces science to everyone. Perth

Located on the banks of the River Tay, visitors to Perth can experience it all, whether they choose to crawl the countryside or enjoy the thriving atmosphere the city offers. We recommend starting with Kinnoull Hill, where views atop this hill are nothing short of majestic. This beautiful part of Peth is abundant with wildlife, where you can spot red squirrels, owls and other birdlife. The River Tay is the perfect addition to any trip to Perth; this waterway curves from the west of Scotland towards the east and ends at Dundee, making it Scotland’s longest river. From farmers markets to culture and fashion shopping trips, George Street is a must visit for those who enjoy shopping punctuated with coffee stops and quirky discoveries.
