At Struan Lodge Care Home in Edinburgh, we have recently implemented a daily tea trolley that has been a huge success with our residents.
The tea trolley goes around to all of the residents each day, with different sweet treats for them to enjoy. Paired with a hot drink of their choice, the tea trolley brings so much joy to our residents, who very much look forward to their daily treat.
The trolley always contains a variety of delicious homebaked goods, including cream cakes, meringues, cupcakes, and brownies.
From breakfast to dinner, and everything in between, our teams work hard to create dining experiences for our residents that are well-presented, enjoyable, and delicious.
We understand how important food and drink are to our residents, both for their nutritional value as well as for those who are food lovers that take great pleasure in the social aspects of dining.
When residents move into our home, our teams go to great lengths to build relationships with each and every person to understand their likes, dislikes, and preferences. Our kitchen team takes great pleasure in creating seasonal menus with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
It is important to us that our residents can enjoy their meals in whichever way they wish, and our chefs strive to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences, and will always try and make the residents their favourite meals and baked goods.
We also allow residents to dine either with eachother in our dining rooms, in private areas with loved ones, or in the comfort of their own rooms.
